Elena Freck (she/her) is a playwright and arts administrator raised between Oregon and North Carolina, now based in New York City.
Elena’s plays focus on characters at crossroads between work and life; ambition and mortality; family and queer identity. Her work has been seen at Brooklyn Art Haus, The Tank, Mouths of Babes, Under St. Marks, The Kraine, and Emerson Stage. She has been a resident artist at Arts Letters & Numbers, a member of Dyke Theatre Company’s Chick Magnet new play incubator, and a recipient of a Puffin Foundation Annual Artist Grant. Her latest play, Protect the Protectors, is published by 1319 Press.
Elena currently works as the Leadership Giving Officer at Roundabout Theatre Company. Previously, she was the Development Manager at St. Ann’s Warehouse.
She holds a BFA in Theatre from Emerson College, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Honors College with a minor in Global and Post-Colonial Studies.
